What to bring, what it costs, and how to book an appointment with Dr Cutbush at St Andrew’s, Spring Hill.
Call the rooms Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm, excluding public holidays.
A current referral from your GP or another specialist is what lets you claim part of the consultation through Medicare. A GP referral lasts 12 months, a specialist referral 3 months.
A referral cannot be backdated, so please have it before your appointment. If a physiotherapist suggested you see Dr Cutbush, you still need the GP referral.
There is more to your consultation than booking the appointment. Please read through the information below so you know what to bring and what to expect before you see Dr Cutbush.
If you are unsure whether your referral is current, check with reception when you book. Sending your referral and scans in beforehand helps, because Dr Cutbush often reviews them before you arrive.

Private health insurance does not contribute to consultation fees. Fees are current at the time of publication and may change.
Dr Cutbush is a private billing specialist, so there will be an out of pocket expense for any proposed surgery. He does not offer no gap or known gap surgical procedures. Surgical fees are guided by the Australian Medical Association schedule of fees.
You will be given a written estimate of fees before surgery so that you know what to expect. Hospital, anaesthetist and prosthesis costs are charged separately by those providers. If cost is a concern, please raise it with the office early rather than on the day.
Payment is required at the time of your consultation, by EFTPOS, credit card, cash, cheque or money order. The office accepts Visa, MasterCard and American Express, as well as debit and savings cards. For a Telehealth appointment, payment is required beforehand.
If a third party such as WorkCover or an insurer is paying Dr Cutbush's fees, please tell the office before your consultation. We will need your claim number and the insurer's contact details so we can confirm in writing that they accept payment of your account. If the third party does not agree, the consultation fee is payable before you see Dr Cutbush.
You will be told your follow up appointment before you leave hospital. For most shoulder procedures Dr Cutbush will see you six weeks after your operation to review your progress and your rehabilitation.
Because physiotherapists guide your rehabilitation, these follow up appointments are usually arranged as a co-appointment with a shoulder physiotherapist and Dr Cutbush together. If that does not suit you, let us know and we will book you with Dr Cutbush on his own.
If you give the office your mobile number, an SMS reminder is sent two business days before your appointment. Please reply to confirm.
If you need to cancel or reschedule, please tell us at least one day beforehand so the time can be offered to another patient who is waiting.
