NZSESA Scientific Meeting July 2015

The New Zealand Shoulder and Elbow Surgery Society annual scientific meeting was held in July in Rarotonga. International guest speakers were Professor Itoi from Japan, Professor Galatz from United States, Professor Jiang from China and Professor Bain from Australia. Dr Cutbush presented scientific papers on arthroscopic subscapularis repair, surgery for complex fractures and joint replacement around the shoulder, arthroscopic repair of the acute AC joint injury, frozen shoulder and the management of nerve injuries around of the shoulder.Dr Cutbush also ran a session for Smith and Nephew and Orthospace on the Inspace prosthesis. The Inspace prosthesis is a saline inflatable balloon made from a bioabsorbable material that is inserted into the subacromial space. It is used in patients with massive irreparable rotator cuff tears.
