Excited to share our latest research published in the Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery!
Our study explores the use of combined cuff repair and superior capsular reconstruction (CRACR) to treat patients with massive rotator cuff tears and retears. Cases traditionally seen as challenging due to poor tendon quality and high risk of postoperative failure.
Over 50 patients were followed for a minimum of two years, demonstrating significant improvements in pain, function and shoulder stability. Importantly, even in this high-risk cohort, the combined approach showed promising repair integrity, offering an effective joint-preserving alternative to more invasive procedures.
