Recruitment is now underway for our latest research investigating the function of the deltoid muscle following reverse total shoulder replacement surgery.
Using advanced EMG studies, we’re exploring both pre- and post-op muscle activation to better understand the complex neural control of the deltoid. A mechanism more intricate than previously believed.
Pictured here: our valued participant and scientist Wolbert “Wolly” Van Den Hoorn (RHS), who is helping lead this exciting work.
This project is proudly funded by the Metro South Health Research Support Scheme in partnership with the Queensland University of Technology.
A huge thank you to our wonderful patients for supporting medical research that will improve outcomes for future shoulder surgery patients.
