It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to Dr Mirek Karel, an outstanding Orthopaedic surgeon from the Netherlands. Mirek has completed his 12-month fellowship with Ashish and me, excelling in various research projects. He is in the final stages of preparing two significant scientific research projects for submission. Mirek is also gearing up for the publication of a substantial series of 300 arthroscopic Latarjet procedures, setting a new milestone in the field.
Moreover, Mirek is almost finished with a book chapter on Arthroscopic Latarjet for inclusion in the ISAKOS Complex and revision problems in shoulder instability, alongside my colleague Ashish Gupta. His remarkable achievements have earned him a coveted fellowship with my friend Tjarco Alta, President Dutch Shoulder & Elbow Society, and fellowship program head, Arthur van Noort, starting in July 2024. Tjarco and I celebrated Mirek's new chapter in Korea, where as invited speakers, we attended the Korean Shoulder and Elbow Society Meeting in Seoul in March 2024.
Mirek, we are very sorry to see you go, but Ashish and I eagerly anticipate our future collaborations.
