In this short YouTube video, I share a special story from my waiting room in Brisbane. Standing in front of the wall that represents years of single minded determination to become a surgeon.
Not long ago, I posted a photo here with these certificates behind me and asked: “How did you spend your youth?”
It was a reflection on purpose and dedication and it really seemed to resonate. A friend of 30 years, a lawyer with teenage kids, even called to say that post opened up a valuable chat with his children about what they want to do with their lives. Not necessarily university, but finding something meaningful to pursue.
Sometimes it’s the small prompts that lead to the most important conversations.
